Your empathy was comforting to me. Especially when you asked periodically “How are you doing?” That’s one reason I wanted you to help me. You understood that it was a daunting task, that it had lots of memories in the pile, some good, some not so good. You kept me on task. You taught me about “stages” or “layers” of sorting and about making macro piles first. Then you boxed them for me. I was a couple of times teary-eyed because finally (after more than several years) I had someone to help who wouldn’t be judging me about the mess, but coming alongside me. You cared about me!
